The collection consists of records relating to the officers and directors of the UNCF from 1944-1981. Includes lists of UNCF leaders, individual members, council, and committee members, (1944-1981). Contained within the biographical files is information pertaining to officers, directors, volunteers, and staff members associated with the UNCF. The writings and speeches series contains speeches and published statements about UNCF and African American higher education made by UNCF staff or volunteers as well as prominent business and political leaders. The collection also includes records of Executive Director William J. Trent, Jr. (1944-1964), President Frederick D. Patterson (1935-1965), Assistant to the Executive Director Calvin H. Raullerson (1953-1958), Executive Vice President James W. Bryant (1965), Secretary of the Corporation (1943-1965) and Lewis W. Jones (1956-1957).
